The Buccaneers quarterback dedicated a touching message to the French striker

Tom Brady and Kylian Mbappe.

Kylian Mbappe‘s display in the final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with a hat trick against Argentina, crossed all borders and, of course, had repercussions around the world. In other sports it also drew attention to its stars, as in the case of Tom Brady.

The NFL legend empathized with Kylian Mbappe after everything the French player did, with an outstanding performance that was not enough to give the title to France that ceded its throne to Leo Messi’s Argentina. “I have a lot more empathy for the guys who put in a lot more time and energy and things don’t go their way. That might not just be a football player. That’s anybody in their job. That could be the guy who works at UPS. That could be the guy who works in the military. That could be the guy who works in the sales office.”

Tom Brady and his thoughts on Kylian Mbappe’s defeat

After those words, Brady made specific reference to Kylian Mbappe: “That could be Mbappé, who scored three goals in the World Cup final. And you know what? The French team didn’t win. That’s life. You don’t have the right to win. Nobody is guaranteed to win. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. The sun came out today and you’re going to try to make this the best day you can.”

Brady analyzed that France loss, on the Let’s Go! podcast, to address the Bucs’ bad momentum: “‘What am I learning by putting in a similar amount of energy as the last two years and not winning?’ Why should we feel like we’re entitled to win all the time? That’s not what life is about.”

Tom Brady’s philosophy of life

Finally, Tom Brady gave a message that serves not only for athletes but for anyone in life: “Get up, get to work and do better and get better and get better and work harder and more determined. It’s so easy to throw in the towel. It’s so easy. That’s what most people want. That’s why you hear on TV, “Ah, that’s what you should have done.” Yes, if you’re a loser, that’s what you should do. Just double down when things don’t go your way. That’s not how life is.”
